Surpassing 16 years is an impressive accomplishment for any organization, let alone one that has successfully mentored and embraced hundreds of young business professionals on Long Island. That, though, is not all the Long Island Elite (LIE) has achieved over the past decade-and-a-half.
Approximately five years ago, the LIE began to focus its philanthropic efforts by supporting one Long Island based not-for-profit organization that serves the neighborhoods we live in, work in and call home. By partnering with these organizations, we have not only helped to raise vital funds for new programs and initiatives that are needed within our communities, but we have also spread an awareness of the important work that these incredible not-for-profits do. This year, the LIE is honored to partner with Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities (ACLD) who provides opportunities for children and adults with autism, learning and developmental disabilities.
Few organizations touch as many lives as ACLD. Most of us have been touched by someone with some type of disability, as one in six people have a developmental disability. By selecting ACLD as this year’s charity partner, the LIE looks to not only support ACLD as an organization but to get to know and help all that they support.
Together, the LIE and ACLD strive to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities. Please share in this opportunity to make a truly meaningful impact in the lives of those we know and love.
